The Issue Monitoring Tool provides a single point of contact to companies in the consumer product and food industry where they can monitor, analyze, and react on both public and internal information that are vital for their existence and business cases. Furthermore the Issue Monitoring Tool is able to forecast threats, react on risks that are at hand, and eventually prevents damage or losses of income from a company. A business dashboard collects and presents all relevant information to a user who can now easily manage the company’s operations with respect to new insights that are provided by the tool. The first main feature provided by the tool are a fully-customizable web data and social media analyses on any topics or posts that are relevant to any part of a value chain or a company itself. The second main feature provided is a risk analysis that enables to estimate if geographically spreading issues, e.g. customer habits, diseases, or events, are caused by a product that is distributed or sold by a company itself. This is especially useful to any company in the food production chain like food retailers. For instance, the risk analysis is able to find out if a product caused a certain disease outbreak and therefore allows assessing this outbreak immediately and preventing any further impact. Moreover, it eliminates costs and reputational damage that are nowadays usually caused by falsely-suspected products. This new analysis technology provides a strong and essential advantage to the business of any company.
