In agriculture sector, an incorrect application of phytosanitary products increases the production costs and the environment impact on public health and on natural resources, causing soil and water contamination and decreasing the productivity. Furthermore, an excess application can extinguish other species and can affect to workers, farmers and close population, in addition to negative effects on environment.
Current machinery can reach 4 km per hour with a width of 14 meters and applying products on 6,6 hectares per hour. Working faster can imply a wrong deposition over the objective, increasing the deposition over close areas causing contamination and a lower efficiency.
The aim of the project is the development of a device with a faster application of phytosantiary products whitout decreasing efficiency and precision and optimizing the distribution of the treatment.
Project results:
The result of the project will be a prototype of an atomizer of 6 meters which will work at 50km per hour. This device will allow to apply phytosanitary products on 30 hectares per hour. The device will include:
• anti creep device to avoid the atomization dispersion
• electronic control panel to activate atomization
• arms orientation automatic control system
• hydraulic system for atomizers arms elevation
• electronic controller for automatic nozzles change
