The ,,Ion lonescu de la Brad,, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Iaşi (USAMV Iasi) is a high education institution specialized in agronomy and veterinary medicine training at national and international level. Its fundamental mission is focused on training specialists in agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry, agricultural economics, food industry, consumer and environment protection, as well as in biology and veterinary medicine.
Our academic offer provides accredited courses from fields of study with professional national and international applicability, high-quality training, scientific research performance, European mobility programs, access to modern facilities and equipment and European mobility programs contributing to our students’ successful careers. Our university represents a serious partner, recognized by many European universities and instances in the field of activity. Our university has 159 persons representing teaching staff and researchers; they teach almost 4200 students.
University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Iaşi is a governmental agricultural and medical veterinary university, certified IQNet and SRAC for implementing and maintaining a quality management system which fulfils the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 standard. The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Iaşi is a specialized institution of superior agronomic and veterinary medicine
training, financed by the state and having as fundamental mission the formation of agricultural, horticultural and animal husbandry engineers, economic engineers in agriculture and veterinary surgeons.
Our university represents a serious partner, recognized by many European universities and instances in the field of activity. Our university has 159 persons representing teaching staff and researchers; they teach almost 4200 students.
Approximately 1,250 students live in the four University halls of residence, in the campus situated within 5 minutes walk from the main building of the University.

- founding member of IAESTE Romania.
The teaching staff as well as the students from the 3rd and 4th academic years are involved in research activities, within the grants financed by the Ministry of Education and Research, National Council of University Scientific Research, World Bank, state and private sponsors. The results of the research activities are examined and applied within the Didactic Station which includes three farms, having a total arable surface of 509 ha. In these field research pilots the students carry on practical activities, having the opportunity to get accustomed to new technologies used in agriculture.
University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Ion Ionescu de la Brad Iaşi, a specialized institution of higher education, is funded by the State, aiming at offering high quality training in agricultural and veterinary medical fields, but also disseminating to the larger population top innovative knowledge in specific fields of agro-business as well as technical and scientific facts that the stakeholders in this specific field need. Agro-tourism and other agriculture related knowledge is currently very important.
In achieving its mission USAMV Iasi gain expertise for the following actions:
1.1. Specifying fields and specializations, and the duration of studies, appropriate technical and material, the level of absorption of the labor market;
1.2. Development and modernization of technical and material infrastructure to ensure high professional and scientific training of graduates,
1.3. Increasing the quality of education and research by providing the necessary conditions: educational facilities, computerization, libraries, laboratories research, etc.. and introduction of competition for grant of national research programs or for coordinating international cooperation programs;
1.4. Conservation, development, application and dissemination of scientific creation in agricultural sciences and veterinary surgeons;
1.5. Improving the business side through didactic and methodical methods for the agronomists, horticulturists, engineers in animal husbandry and veterinarians, who want to become teachers in HE institutions;
1.6. Defending the democratic framework, based on respect for fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual in a state of law
1.7. Developing own publishing scientific information and documentation to ensure students, teachers and professionals of agricultural and veterinary medical field have access to a state-of-the-art scientific platform;
1.8. Continuous improvement activities and performance making use of universities and research centers of reference in the country and abroad.
USAMV Iasi is an institution open to international cooperation, having bilateral agreements with over 35 prestigious universities in Europe and beyond. In the past five years USAMV developed and won numerous research projects funded by CEEX, NURC, CNMP, NASR, POSCCE, HRD and other institutions.
