Düzce University is a state university founded in 2006 and has reached nearly 30,000 matriculated undergraduate, associate degree (two year programs) and graduate students with its 14 faculties, Graduate School, 2 colleges and 10 vocational schools in fifteen years time. DU has also been experiencing the pride of being selected by our Turkish Higher Education Council to become specialized on the fields environment and health, among almost 200 state and private universities in Turkey, based on its prior achievements and on its assertive regional potentials. DU's specific focus within this project is set on the recycling of agricultural wastes and on the improvement of traditional and complementary medicine treatments.
DU, who also has the honour of winning the European Entrepreneurship Award, particulary with its various projects on bee-keeping and related products, embodies a technopark which has held the ranking first status for a long-time among its contemporaries and plays a key role on regional development.
In these last two years DU has started to reap the outcomes of its stably rising achievements in the internationally recognized rankings. While finding a place between the first 600-700 in the world with its faculties of medicine and health sciences, DU came 258th in terms of the industrial income it brought in. According to the latest indicators, DU has found places in first 400 of the world, with its performances on 4 different SDG's (17 Sustainable Development Goals in total) stated by the United Nations. Recently, we happily and proudly have received the news that our university has been ranked between 350-400 in the world according to the THE Young University Rankings.
