Expertise: Uldis Ositis, personal code 060336 - 10022 was bon in town Madona, Latvia. 1959 graduated Latvia Academy of Agriculture (later Latvia University of Agriculture - LUA) with qualification zootechnics. On 1965 achieve Candidate's dissertation in USSR but with resolution of the Council habilitation and doctorate of LUA from 27.11. 1992 qualified as Dr. agr. From 1998 he is professor but from 2004 professor emeritus and 2008 leading researcher of the Faculty of Agriculture of LUA. He was assistant (1966), associate professor (1970), Dean of the Faculty of Zootechnics (1972 - 1980 and 1985 - 1993) On the base of research of ruminant nutrition issued monograph "Evaluation of feedingstuffs in ruminant nutrition", LUA, 1998. 102 pp. (in Latvian). He has 58 animal nutrition literature, 7 monographs, 3 textbooks - Animal Nutrition in Complex aspect", LLKC, 2004, 363 pp; Animal Nutrition, LUA, 2005, 320 pp: Horse Nutrition, Proventus farms Pluss, 2007, 290 pp. Ositis U. was leader and participant of international and local projects and programs: 1)TEMPUS project coordinator in LUA 1993 - 1995, 1995/96, 1998 - 2001. 2) Leonardo da Vinci project 2004 - 2006 Facility: To improve professional skills Ositis U. for one month visited River Falls University, Michigan, USA 1996; Vageningen University , The Netherlands 1999; Hohenheim University, Germany 2000, Uppsala University, Sweden (1995, 1998, 2001). He participated in 2nd European Workshop on Equine nutrition, Dijon, France, January 15 - 17, 2004; in 3rd Europen Workshop on Equine Nurtition, Compabasso, Italy, 21 - 23 June, 2006. With poster participated in Nordic Feed Science Conference 22 - 23 June 2010, Uppsala. Priority: Leading researcher in Faculty of Agriculture of the Latvia University of Agriculture (LUA), Main research activities - ruminant nutrition. In the 1998 in Latvia Republic started new system of nutrition of high-yielding cows with was worked out in Department of Animal nutrition of LUA leaded by U, Ositis. On that theoretical rule was compiled computer program "LEDA" for rationing feeding rations of high- yielding cows.He has noticable reaearch in nutrition of beef cattle and horse nutrition.
