Contact by mailDr. Hayrettin ÖZER, is a Chief Research Scientist (chemist) in TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center Life Science and currently working as Research Group Leader of Food Safety and Quality Research Group since 2000. He has research interest on food safety focusing on management of mycotoxins in food crops, validation/development of analytical methods/techniques, development of reference materials and organizing of proficiency tests, treacability in food systems, digital/smart technologies in farm-tofork food system. He coordinated various national projects and is currently coordinating 2 national projects titled “Center of Development of Food Analysis Kits” and “Development of Reference Materials and Proficiency Tests for Food Analysis”. He has participated in many FP7 and FP6 projects spesifically related with mycotoxin management and their risk assessment in food crops. He, as TUBITAK team leader, is currently participating as partner coordinator and Turkish node representative in HORIZON 2020 project called METROFOOD-RI (Project in the ESFRI Roadmap 2018) and also coordinating a HORIZON 2020 project called MycoTWIN (GA no. 952337). He is also currently involved in INNOFOOD (EU-IPA II) Project as a member of operation coordination unit. Additional to the R&D projects, he is organizing national and international trainings, dissemination, communication and exploitation activities and giving lectures on method validation and uncertainty in chemical analysis and various analytical methods focusing on food safety and mycotoxins.
