I have 11 years of experience in food and agriculture at ILVO. A Masters’ degree in Biology and in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Ghent and have achieved my PhD degree in Applied Biological Science in. I have many experiences in national and international projects related to food, health, and agriculture. I started my international project management work in the FP7 ERA-Net SUSFOOD (2010-2014), as WP1-leader concerning mapping of Research). Also in its successor, the H2020 ERA-Net Cofund SUSFOOD2 (2017-2021) she is very actively involved as deputy coordinator and as WP- and Taskleader in several work packages concerning communication, impact assessment, visibility of the network linkage to other initiatives etc. Also in the ERA-NET SusAn (2016-2020), WP lead of communication and collaborator of several other tasks. Katrien has also been involved in JPI HDHL CSA 2.0 (creation of Stakeholder Forum), and in several other ERA-Nets (HDHL-INTIMIC and ICT-AGRI2) concerning communication, dissemination or impact assessment.
