CSP operates on a local, national and international level, performing experimental development and industrial research in accordance with the Eu norms on Innovation and R&D. CSP activities refers to domains such as Big Data and Internet of Things, Networking and Wireless Communication, Networked Media, Social Innovation. CSP’s missions to apply scientific and technological research to develop local innovation potential. CSP has been performing, in the last 13 years, the technology transfer of the R&D outputs to local communities, enterprises (above all SMEs), local PAs, with particular reference to Piemonte area. CSP’s approach is based on the Open Innovation paradigm, on cooperative research within the so-called JOINT LABS and on the European Living Lab model (to develop experimental solutions co-designed and tested on end users in real local settings).

CSP considers agriculture and in particular precision agriculture one of the most promising fields of application of its research results based on the “IOT” paradigm and using architectures typical of the “wireless sensors network” paradigm. Research activities range from data collection on the field (via lowpower, low impact outdoor sensor boxes), to data transmission (via broadband and/or narrowband solutions), to data visualization in water management and hydric stress, phytopathology monitoring, epidemiology with particular reference to wineyards.
