Project information
Within the project an app will be developed for livestock farmers and technology suppliers to be able to distantly operate and control stables. Innovative technology concepts ask a high level of knowledge for operation of the systems. Farmers often lack the background to fully use the potential of the technology. This creates a shift in knowledge from farmers to technology suppliers. The distance from suppliers to the farms often creates logistic problems. To solve this problem the consortium intends to develop an application with which the stable can be monitored, maintained and settings can be changed. Through sensors in the stable a lot of data is collected, containing animal weight, feed properties, water quality, odor, ammonia, humidity, but also the properties of the manure. All this data is analyzed by the app and the settings of the stable can be automatically adjusted. Next to this automation step, maintenance and steering can be done from any distance. In a control center the stable properties (smell, visuals, humidity, etc.) can be mimicked for input of the operator. The app should provide information for both farmers and suppliers. This makes it possible for technology suppliers to export their products all over the world ánd be able to reach the production levels that are possible with the innovative technology. Currently the production results can vary up to 50% between different farmers (with the same technology and based on the same principles).
