A dynamic action threshold decision-making tool for soybean growers

Objectives 1.Development of Phase 1 mobile application in time for use in 2011 field season. 2.Conduct survey of Ontario grain farmers and major Crop Consulting companies (Cargill, Laresco, Harvex, etc) regarding preferences for receiving extension technology, prevalence of smartphones, etc. 3.Generation of photographs of all natural enemies, and examples of soybean aphid population numbers. 4.Development of Phase 2 smartphone application for 2012 field season, with enhanced features. 5.Interpretation of provincial data on soybean aphid populations and spray recommendations. 6.Evaluate success of mobile DAT app. 7.Promotion of soybean aphid dynamic action threshold decision-making tool.
