The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1996 along wih the Departments of Electrical-Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering; with the additions of the Department of Industrial Engineering in 2002, the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2007 and the Department of Civil Engineering in 2011 it became an engineering school with five departments. There are also new programs which have started within the departments, such as the Software Engineering Program within the Department of Computer Engineering established in 2009, the Biomedical Engineering Program within the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering established in 2011 and the Mechatronic Engineering Program within the Mechanical Engineering Department established in 2011. Thus the Faculty of Engineering now provides education to 1200 engineering students in the fastest growing areas of engineering at our Şile Campus.

Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering Programs of the Faculty of Engineering have been accredited by MÜDEK as of May 2016 for 5 years. MÜDEK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs) is the only authorized association in Turkey for accreditation of engineering undergraduate programs.
