The National Institute for Agrarian and Veterinary Research, I. P. (INIAV) is the State Laboratory, in the area of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, which carries out research activities in the agronomic and veterinary areas.
The INIAV was created in 2012, with the attributions related to agrarian (L-INIA) and veterinary (L-LNIV) research of the former National Institute of Biological Resources I.P. (INRB), having its responsibilities in the areas of fisheries and aquaculture incorporated into the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere, I. P. (IPMA).
