Er-Gen is an R&D company that aims to support small ruminant enterprise start-ups and their development through the optimum advancement of university-industry collaboration. Er-Gen provides a supportive environment for companies to enhance their effective use of already available resources or to create new ones through R&D. The key focus is on innovative assisted reproductive technology, breeding strategies, smart farming technologies and functional foods from sheep and goats.

Innovations:
Having developed a synthetic Dam Line (Anarom) using 9 sheep breeds. Anarom is the only prolific breed that surpasses local dam lines 3-folds in terms of total productivity in the middle-east.
Offering animal breeding strategy services through highly experienced staff specialised in reproductive biotechnology and precision flock management.
Having conducted several R&D projects in which local breeds of sheep and goats were used to define their production traits including reproductive performance, milk production and carcass quality.
Having devised smart farming technologies by using precision flock management software and Cloud-based IoT hardware for small ruminants.
Having conducted R&D projects for functional food production from sheep and goat edible products, i.e. %250 increased CLA content in lamb meat, effectively unfolding the anti-carcinogenic and anti-obesity properties.
