It utilizes results from basic research on management schemes for food safety, food quality and environmental concerns, transfers them into operational support systems for use in SMEs, food chain networks or policy, and engages in research for their continuous improvement, development, and integration in various scenarios. Its portfolio includes a.o. a multi-level communication platform that delivers documents and management tools, tracking/tracing and quality management solutions for agricultural trade that are being used by several hundred enterprises, the management of a tracking/tracing and quality management solution that covers all egg production in Germany and is presently transferred to other retail products, as well as solutions for fruits and vegetables. Newest additions include a European network database and a tool for supporting enterprises in the transition towards selected business models.
