Created in 2011 in partnership amongst teams of world-class researchers from Rennes 1 University, Diafir develops, manufactures and sells the SPID platform for medical diagnosis. It is based upon patented Mid InfraRed (MIR) fiber optic sensor, that allows to record within minutes a MIR spectrum. It is then analyzed by a proprietary algorithm to deliver a diagnosis score.
Hence Diafir has built up a unique expertise in infrared sensor manufacturing and in MIR spectral signal analysis. It includes a team of 4 PhD. It has led to the first infectious disease diagnosis made by MIR spectroscopy: a near patient, easy to use and fast delivering system.
This expertise has also been used to solve food industry issues during collaborative projects funded by Brittany Regional Council: DELBIA, production line rinse waters cleanliness, or QOPE cattle quality follow up. Diafir solution is a test that can be implement on the production site to delivery results within minutes.
