ICT-AGRI-FOOD Knowledge Incubator online workshop - 24 May 2022
Building the ICT-AGRI-FOOD Knowledge Incubator
ICT-AGRI-FOOD is implementing a Knowledge Incubatorfor researchers, SMEs and start-ups funded within ICT-AGRI-FOOD calls, in order to improve knowledge management and facilitate the interaction of research with relevant stakeholders. The ICT-AGRI-FOOD Knowledge Incubator is a networking space based on an online tool. The online tool is organised as a database of innovations developed by the ICT-AGRI-FOOD community. Users of the Knowledge Incubator are invited to share innovations, describinghow digital technologies can contribute to solving a specific problem in the agri-food-system. The final objective is to increase its visibility and impact in the ICT-AGRI-FOOD communitysharing experiences and data with other EU projects, catalogues and platforms.
On May 24th 2022, funders and project partners within the ICT-AGRI-FOOD community were invited for the presentation of the database of innovations and provided with instructions and suggestions for its compilation.
After an introductory session by Johannes Pfeifer (BLE) on the ERA-Net ICT-AGRI-FOOD and the Partnership Agriculture of Data, Livia Ortolani (MIPAAF) presented the advantages of joining the Knowledge Incubator by uploading the innovative solutions in progress and/or already developed by the partners of the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 Calls (ICT-AGRI and ICT-AGRI-FOOD. Alice Albertini (MIPAAF) described the type of contents needed for uploading innovations in the defined action-oriented sections (e.g., presentation of the innovation from a practical perspective) with a creative way whenever possible (e.g., creation of multimedia contents using storytelling). Marijke Hunninck (ILVO) presented the online platform step-by-step.
Two keynote speakers were invited to help the project partners improve the impact and communication of their work. Lucilla Persichetti (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development - ASviS) provided an overview of the UN SDGs goals and how the research and innovation, thus the innovations developed by the project partners, can be aligned to the UN 2030 Agenda increasing their impact on the society as a whole. Leanne Townsend (James Hutton Institute) presented experiences of communicating research results through digital stories.
Finally, a round table was opened with the participants. The database of innovations was priorly tested with some volunteers from the 2019 Cofunded Call and they shared their positive experience and further suggestions for the improvement of the Knowledge Incubator and its visibility.
All the project partners will be asked to upload in the database at least one innovation by July 30th 2022. Instructions will be sent soon.
