Applicazioni a scala regionale e urbana” RESEARCH ACTIVITY His main scientific interest concern the study, implementation and control of non linear model of complex dynamical system, with a particular focus on environmental system characterized by heavily non linear interaction between state variable and often uncertainty inputs. For these reasons, the main tasks involved in the study are the definition of a correct subset of state variables, the mathematical definition of the physical and chemical processes taking place in the atmosphere and the robustness, accuracy and efficiency verification of the numerical schemes implemented for the resolution of differential equation systems governing the systems. Moreover, Claudio Carnevale is involved in the identification of nonlinear stochastic systems as neural networks, neurofuzzy networks and narmax models, implemented to solve both forecasting and planning problems, resulting in the development of Air Quality Decision Support Systems whose formalization lead to the solution of a non linear multiobjective problem, with an objective function including at least an air quality indexes and the related control costs. During his scientific activity Claudio Carnevale works with different national and international research center ((Agenzia Mobilità e Ambiente, AGIP Petroli, CESI, Joint Research Center, Carlo Gavazzi Space) and cooperate in a variety of scientific projects (CityDelta, QUITSAT, POMI).
