Expertise: The Department of Animal Science (ANIS) has expertise in many different areas related to nutrition, different aspects of physiology, immunology, cell biology, reproduction, ethology, disease prevention, welfare assessment, epidemiology, and production and health management, and decision support systems. Research is carried out with the aim to produce knowledge and solutions relating to current and future demands for a sustainable livestock production. The research and innovation has e.g. focus on developing health, reproduction, welfare and quality-promoting strategies while at the same time considering the environment, efficiency and economy. These activities constitute the foundation for ANIS's cooperation with industry and the agricultural sector, research-based service to the public sector, and teaching.
