Claudia Arcidiacono, PhD Eng., graduated in Civil Engineering with full marks and honours in 1993 at the University of Catania. Got the PhD in "Costruzioni agricole e assetto del territorio"in 1998. Researcher from A.A.2002/03 to November 2006, Associate Professor from December 2006 to January 2018, she is Full Professor since February 2018. She is fellow of CIGR, Eurageng, ISHS, and AIIA. Is scientific responsible of the Test Center ECDL-GIS of the same University and has been Coordinator of the international PhD in ‘Ingegneria agraria’ (Agricultural Engineering) from 2010 to 2012. Is President of the Master Degree Course on ‘Safeguard of the territory, environment and landscape’. Member of the CIGR Working group on ‘Animal housing in hot climates’. Proposer, scientific responsible for Di3A and member of the Management Committee of the Cost Action CA16106 on ‘Ammonia and Greenhouse Gases Emissions from Animal Production Buildings’ (LivAGE). Her research activity has focused on: - ICT applications to livestock farming: definition of methodologies utilizing automatic localization and identification systems based on RFID technologies for the analysis of animal behaviour in breeding environments, and improvements of image processing methodologies for the design of animal localization and identification systems. - GHG and microclimate monitoring: measurement of ammonia and GHG concentrations in naturally ventilated dairy houses, analysis of gas concentrations in relation to the microclimate in the barn, computation of emissions from livestock houses. - application of the LCA for the assessment of the environmental impact in the agri-food sector. She is author of more than 100 publications in refereed national and international journals, indexed congress proceedings, and ISBN congress proceedings. .
