ICT and Automation for Low Input & Reduced Traffic Agriculture in Mountainous Pasture Areas: Target is to implement a pilot project to increase animal production and accelerate rural socio-economic development by fertilization-seeding of high mountainous pasture areas. Will analyse and handle multi-source and multi-sensor information on soil and crops like geospatial data and knowledge to detect potantial reactive pasture areas to fertilizer applications Controlled traffic techniques and minimised movements will be used for fertilization and seeding. Aimed at utilizing ICT and automation in primary agriculture for sustainable use of these natural resources. Benefits of applications will be determined by aerial and ground based research activities on plants, lands and animals. The main objective of the project is to create a platform that integrates and harmonizes existing software and hardware technologies into a single system for pasture management. The main goal is to improve the methods of pasture management through introduction and fusion of innovative tools. The proposed system combine a set of data on soil and crop together with auxiliary data on topography, and land use to delineate management zones for site specific nitrogen fertilisation that leads to sustainable increase in yield at reduced input conditions. Will establish a stategic basic network to implement wider scale projects. Another target is to take attention of policy makers to rural development.
