Priority: Paolo Balsari is the director of The Crop Protection Technology laboratory of DEIAFA University opf Turin that is involved since more than 15 years in the activities of experiments and research on spray application, collaborating with the local regional administrations, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Environment, the European Union, several sprayers manufacturers and plant protection products companies. Paolo Balsari is responsible for the functional tests of new sprayers to get the ENAMA (National Board for Agricultural Mechanisation) and ENTAM (European Network for Testing of Agricultural Machines) certificates. It is also involved in the activity of training of technicians involved in the programmes of inspections of sprayers in use in Italy. DEIAFA has participated to the design of new sprayer prototypes in tha ambit of research projects (e.g ISAFRUIT) and is involved in standardisation activities concerning spraying equipment in ISO and EN committees.
