Prof. Dr. Rafal Wawer is a researcher and project manager at IUNG, dealing with soil science, irrigation, watershed processes, spatial analyses and modelling as well as broad application of ICT in agriculture. In the years 2012-2014 he was coordinating the IUNG team within FP7 ENORASIS project (smart DSS for optimized irrigation planning), where he was also the leader of work package 6 – Pilot Implementation and Task 2.1 – Agricultural Processes. He is participating in several H2020 and national projects at IUNG, coordinating long range research project on soil erosion and modelling the impact of agriculture onto the environment. He was working in SADL, Belgium for 2,5 years dealing with ICT issues related to INSPIRE and SEIS. He was responsible for the development of the candidate data models for INSPIRE biodiversity themes: Habitats & Biotopes, Species Distribution and Bio-geographical Regions. He was the co-author of the SEIS SoP report, screening the current development of online environmental monitoring and reporting services, data streams and organizational frameworks in chosen EIONET member countries.
