Name: André J.A. Aarnink Work Address: Wageningen University and Research, Department Livestock Research Job Title: Senior Researcher Livestock Environment Date of birth: 26 April 1959 Expertise: Livestock production; Gaseous, dust and pathogen emissions; Indoor air quality; Indoor climate control Career, experience Studied Animal Science at Wageningen University (graduated in 1985). Was a teacher in animal husbandry at Barneveld college for two years (1985 – 1987) and since then worked already for more than 30 years in livestock research at Wageningen University and Research. Did his PhD study in Wageningen on ammonia emission from pig houses. He headed different projects in the area of emissions from animal houses and in the area of climate and air quality inside animal houses. Furthermore, he headed projects in the area of innovative welfare and environmental friendly housing systems for pigs. He supervised different PhD and MSc students in these areas of research. He was author and co-author of more than 80 peer reviewed papers and contributed to more than 250 publications (h-index Google Scholar: 38). He was invited speaker and was in the scientific board of different conferences. He is member of the CIGR Working group on heat stress in livestock animals; member of the CIGR section II board; Section editor of the CIGR Journal; Working Group leader of Modelling ammonia and greenhouse gases emissions in COST project LivAGE (CA16106).
