Associate Professor Luca Fiori is the leader of the Green Process Engineering Group at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, University of Trento, at Trento, Italy. He obtained his PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering in 2003 at the University of Genoa, Italy, where he also graduated with first class honors in Chemical Engineering in 1998. His current main research focus is on extraction and thermo-chemical conversion processes, in particular at high pressure (supercritical CO2 extraction, supercritical H2O gasification, hydrothermal carbonization) for exploitation of agro-industrial waste and biomass: waste and biomass to energy and added-value compounds. He has > 130 publications, including > 60 papers in ISI peer-reviewed journals and 4 chapters in books (H-index:26, citations>1900 – Scopus). He has participated in many research projects, serving as coordinator in most of them. His funds derive from national and local grants and private companies from the agro-industrial, waste and engineering sectors. He serves as reviewer in several scientific journals and as evaluator of research proposals in national and European calls (CIP-IEE 2012, CIP-IEE 2013).
