Nadège Edouard's research project at INRA (France) concerns dairy cow feeding and nitrogen emissions. Dairy farming contributes significantly to emissions of NH3, N2O, and NO3 in agriculture. Feeding and management practices (housing, manure management) can modulate these emissions. The aim of her work is to better understand the mechanisms that contribute to these emissions and to develop models at different levels (animal, herd) to better predict the impact of dairy cow management on the flow of these elements at risk for the environment.
