Constantin VÎLCU; Age: 68 years; Career path: aircraft engineer (1980 - graduate of The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at UPB); Current position: Senior researcher, Phd student eng. at Faculty of Biotechnical Systems Engineering at University „POLITEHNICA” of Bucharest (UPB). Key team member in numerous national and international RD&I projects. The experience gained during 40 years of research, development and innovate activity, both in the aeronautical field (electric systems & avionics) and in the domain of industrial process automation, represents a real and substantial support for the achievement of the objectives of any proposed project in the field of mechatronics. At the work place I developed activities for implementation and coordination: electrical systems design and writing papers in aviation programs IAR-93, IAR-99 and agricultural aircraft IAR-AG6 at INCREST Bucharest (1980 ÷ 1990 period); design and coordination of on-board systems for regional aircraft in civil aviation program IAR-705 at INAV-SA Bucharest (1990 ÷ 1999 period). At National Research and Development Institute for Gas Turbines – COMOTI of Bucharest (2004 ÷ 2019 period), I developed activities for implementation and management: key team member in the national programs MENER and INVENT; project manager in the AEROSPATIAL and CEEX-2006 programs; key team member in the environmental project within the Romania-Bulgaria Cross-border Cooperation Program 2007-2013 "Common border, common solution"; key team member in the STAR-C3 2016-CDI Program / Project: „Advanced Solar Thermal Propulsion System for Increasing of Satellite Operational Life – STRAuSS”, team member. At National Institute for Development Research for Machinery and Installations for Agriculture and Food Industry - INMA Buchares (2019 ÷ 2020 period), I developed activities for implementation in the national project TEACHERS. From the list of the most important achievements we enumerate: - Program for numerical calculation the electrical wiring on board of aircrafts, IAR-93 Program; - Design and manufacturing on-board generator (27.5 VDC / 2.7 kW) for agricultural aircrafts IAR-AG6 Program; - Wiring diagrams systems for regional aircraft (medium courier) IAR-705 Program; - Realization of ECS electro-blowers automation, MENER/2004 and INOVARE/2007 Programs; - Automation of sleeve bearings diagnosis installation bench, INVENT/2005 Program; - Design and realization automation of installation for advanced materials testing to fast thermal shock, 1200°C/SECURITATE/2006 Program; - Screw electro-compressors maintenance ECS-10 model COMOTI; - Up-grade automation of installation for advanced materials testing to fast thermal shock, 1500 C°/ CEEX/2007-2008 Program; - Integrated system of monitoring and warning at technological risk, Romania-Bulgaria Crossborder Program/2007-2013; - Laboratory installation for testing the thermo-solar propulsion system, STAR-C3 2016-CDI Program / Project: „Advanced Solar Thermal Propulsion System for Increasing of Satellite Operational Life – STRAuSS”.
