Evangelos received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Engineering School of the University of Patras in April 1984, and his PhD from King’s College, University of London in 1991. He is a Chartered Engineer (MTEE 43556). Since 2016 he is a Full Professor of Electronic Materials at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering NTUA, and Director of the Laboratory of Electronic Sensors, NTUA and ICCS. He is actively related to pharmaceutical industries towards the determination of the spatial distribution of super-paramagnetic nano-particles in the body; to gas and oil industries, railway companies, pipeline works and maritime inspectors for the realization of magnetic non-destructive methods for predicting cracks in magnetic steels and the development-implementation of mechanical and field sensors in industrial and safety applications. During his more than 30-year research career, he has served as principal investigator in 5 projects, project manager in 2 projects and project coordinator in 19 projects, funded with more than €15Μ, for the development of sensors, transducers and systems. He has published more than 150 papers in international journals and more than 50 papers in international conferences. His papers have been hetero-cited more than 2000 times in journal publications and 50 times from 20 patents of well-known companies in the field of sensors (h-index=24). He is reviewer in 21 international journals and 11 international conferences. He is the Chair of the International Advisory Committee of the European Magnetic Sensor and Actuator Conference, Chair of the International Conference on Materials and Applications for Sensors and Transducers. He is Regional Editor in Recent Patents in Material Science, as well as Editorial Board in Journal of Electrical Engineering, Journal of Automation Mobile Robotics and Intelligent Systems and Measurement Automation Robotics.
