Born in Athens during 1975, Dimitrios K. Tsolis has graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computers Technology of the University of Patras in 1999. He speaks English and German. Since 2013 he is an Assistant Professor at the Cultural Heritage Management and New Technologies Department of the University of Patras where he teaches computer networks, web 2.0. technologies, advanced information systems and legal aspects of informatics. In addition, since 1999 he is a researcher at the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of the University of Patras in the field of agricultural informatics. At March 2001 he received his M.Sc. and In February 2004, he received his Ph.D. Since 1997 he is participating in more than 30 European and National Projects (IST Projects, VHF, MUVII, MINERVA, MinervaPlus, MinervaEC, Athena, ICT PSP projects Linked Heritage, etc.). He is scientific director in 10 R&D national and European projects (e.g. EuropeanaPhotography, Athena Plus, EdMuse (Erasmus+)). In the field of agricultural informatics he is specialized in the use of sensor, sensor networks, big environmental data management and analytics and the use of Augmented Reality technologies and tools in Precision Agriculture and Urban Farming.
