Silvia Fiore is Associate Professor in Environmental Sanitary Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. She is responsible of the Biorefinery and Circular Economy Lab at Politecnico di Torino. She teaches the courses Environmental Chemistry (BSc level), Circular Economy (BSc level), Solid Wastes (PhD level). She supervised 7 PhD students. She published 60 papers on international peer review scientific journals (Google Scholar: H-index 17). She coordinated 9 national research projects and was responsible of a research unit in 2 international projects. Her scientific activity involves both fundamental applied research and full-scale applications, and it is strongly oriented toward the feasibility of research findings. The main topics are: waste recovery and environmental assessment (municipal solid waste, e-waste, end of life vehicles, end of life tyres); anaerobic digestion and biorefineries; water and wastewater treatment (processes, energy efficiency, environmental assessment); study of contaminants sorption phenomena, characterization and remediation of polluted sites.
