She is a graduate of Middle East Technical University, Enviromental Engineering Department in 1990. She has received her MSc and PhD degrees at Hacettepe University, Environmental Engineering Program. She is a full professor now at Chemical Engineering Department of Hacettepe University. professor She has expertise on several topics in Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology (Bioreactors, Biofilms, Biomass, biobased polymers, biodegradation, etc.).
