Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Feller is a leading scientist of microsystem engineering dealing with development of cell-based Lab-on-a-chip-systems since more than 15 years. He holds more than 80 high-level publications in peer-reviewed journals and 5 patents. He is leader of the research group Instrumental Analysis. The research group Instrumental Analysis is one of the most successful groups in the Ernst-Abbe-University of Applied Sciences Jena and belongs also to the university-internal institute IMPT Jena (Institute of Microsystem and Precision Manufacturing Engineering. The essential characteristic of the research group is the close connection of biology and engineering in the field of microfluidics. Consequentially our research focuses on the development of microfluidic chipsystems with integrated biosensors based on different eucaryotic cell systems. Due to many national and international cooperations with institutes and companys the research group is able to manufacture the systems with state-of-the-art technologies to achieve high-precision microfluidic chipsystems.
