Institute of BioEconomy (IBE) was founded in 2019 by the merge of two different institutes working in the field of monitoring, environmental analysis and rural development, as part of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). IBE-CNR employs 190 people on permanent contracts and around 40 on temporary contracts, with a strong background in agriculture, forestry, physics and economy, as well as social and political sciences. IBE applies a multidisciplinary approach in several research fields and in the last decade, IBE has been focusing on topics related to value chains of agrifood, conservation, rural development and training with the aim of strengthening skills at both national and European level.
IBE aims also to overcome the gap between society and science. Over the years, IBE has been engaged in dissemination activities of scientific and educational programs directed to/for adults and students, providing knowledge and expertise on different topics.
IBE is partner and led partner in regional and European projects in different fields related to rural development, agrifood, skills strengthening, innovation, innovation in rural areas, climate change, science and environmental education.
IBE-CNR has organised several international and national events (conferences, workshops) for science dissemination.
Francesca Martelli is a researcher at the Institute of BioEconomy. She has 16 years’ experience in project management at national and international level. Her experience began at University and from 2003 as researcher within CNR IBE staff as grant office responsible. During last 3 years, she actively worked in European project related to different fields: agrifood, didactic issues, environment and training.
Valentina Marchi is researcher at IBE-CNR, and she is graduated in Economy and Management. She is involved in national and international scientific project concerning agrifood, education and training providing innovation skills.
