Call for Expressions of Interest to Participate in the SCAR-Engage Programme

The Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) is a European committee comprising over 35 countries in the area of agriculture, fisheries, food systems, forestry, and the wider bioeconomy. The committee has become a respected source of advice on European agricultural and wider bioeconomy research, along with being a major catalyst for the coordination of national research programmes.

The Horizon Europe-funded CSA RefreSCAR is supporting the Working Groups of SCAR and is pleased to announce the launch of the SCAR-Engage Programme. The initiative provides targeted support to new members of SCAR Working Groups (WGs). Expressions of Interest are now invited from country delegations to participate in the first year of the Programme.

Are you part of a national delegation to SCAR? Do you want to enhance your country’s representation in SCAR Working Groups and advance your research and innovation (R&I) agenda in line with European priorities? If so, you are welcome to apply for the SCAR-Engage Programme.

The SCAR-Engage Programme aims to increase the visibility of under-represented or less visible countries in SCAR. Running annually from 2024 to 2027, the Programme equips participants with the knowledge, support, and connections needed for active involvement in WG activities.

Participants selected for the Programme will receive:

  • Peer-to-peer support and networking: Both in-person and online meetings.
  • Country-level Individual Action Plans: Tailored guidance for future SCAR activities.
  • Financial support: Up to €600 per meeting for attending physical WG meetings, covering up to three meetings per year.
  • Alumni involvement and Certificate of Completion: Continued engagement and recognition.
