We are pleased to communicate the Green ERA-Hub (GEH) Call is now open. The Green ERA-Hub (GEH) is a Coordination and Support Action of the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme.
We are pleased to share with you that the 2024 Joint Call on "Towards transformation of agri-food systems for the benefit of planetary health, consumers, and other stakeholders along the food value chain using data-based systems and ICT technologies" has successfully passed the initial stage with 42 pre-registered proposals invited to submit full proposals, and the applicants are now actively working on their submissions.
The scientific scope of the call addresses collaborative projects in 4 research topics:

On 10th November 2024 the MANUFUTURE AET (subplatform on Agricultural Engineering Technologies), ICT-AGRI-FOOD and CAPIGI foundation have organised a face-to-face conference and workshop with their partners in Hannover/Germany. Agricultural machine manufacturing community and stakeholders have met and discussed opportunities of Horizon Europe for the community. The event took place a few days before AGRITECHNICA, with many exciting speeches on various topics.
The ERA- Net SusCrop is launching a video contest to actively involve EVERYBODY from across the world to reflect, communicate and inspire on ‘what sustainable crop production means to you?’
The competition is open to EVERYBODY and is supposed to activate multiple groups: school children, students, scientists, farmers/farmer-groups, and any person/group of random enthusiasts, artists (film, circus, music, digital/installation art, …), architects, social media/communication workers, etc.
On 27 and 28 April 2023, the Experimentation Fields Conference will take place in Berlin, organized by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE). At the Experimentation Fields Conference, the digital experimentation fields will present themselves and their results.
On 25 January 2023, the European Space Agency (ESA), alongside the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the German Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) organised an event to bring together the space and agri-food sectors with the aim of tackling joint challenges and to draw up a shared roadmap. Without action, these challenges can only get worse.
Sustainable Food Systems: Connecting Expertise in Academia and Industry
This seminar series organized by the EFFoST Working Group on Sustainable Food Systems aims to provide detailed insights into various facets of sustainability in the food sector. The seminars will include expert talks, practical indications from industry professionals, as well as short presentations from selected early-stage researchers.
SIMA 2022, an international forum due to take place from 6 to 10 November 2022 in Paris Nord Villepinte, and will celebrate its centenary. With attendees from all areas of the profession, the trade fair will cement its position as a leader in the sector with a new approach, extended content and enhanced showcasing of innovations across the agricultural sector.
The European Commission (EC) established a High-Level Expert Group (HLEG) to assess the needs and options for strengthening the sciencepolicy interface (SPI) for improved food systems governance.
In March 2021, the DIVA project, funded by H2020, ended. This accelerator has funded 134 digital agri-related projects for the benefit of 180 SMEs in Europe. In the wake of this initiative, a cross-border community has been created around digital AgTech companies, who expressed the need and interest in sharing skills and knowledge at European level to build more powerful value chains.
