Dr. Chariton Kalaitzidis is an Agricultural Engineer graduate from the University of Thessaly, with post-graduate and Doctorate education in applications of Remote Sensing from the Universities of Aberdeen and Manchester Metropolitan, respectively. He has been a researcher for the CIHEAM/Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania from 2007 until 2012, when he was appointed Research and Studies coordinator of the MSc program “Geoinformation in Environmental Management”, a position he still holds today. His research interests lie in the use of Remote Sensing and Earth Observation data, for collecting information about the Earth's land cover, primarily vegetation and agricultural crops.
